Honkies' Facebook description of "premium synth infused country honky-tonk from South London" gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect from this emerging five piece. Existing almost exclusively south of the river, Honkies have gigged relentlessly on eclectic line ups at The Five Bells and, of course, the legendary Brixton Windmill for the last 2 years. It's fitting that the band's new video for warped country track 'Pagans' was pieced together from footage of their gigs, filmed by another South London legend Lou Smith. The colourful clip captures the band's admirable DIY spirit and rough edges with a few random flashes of crabs and people dancing in their pants to keep it interesting. 'Pagans' will be released as a split 7" with peers Peeping Drexels' 'Bills Drift' via Permanent Creeps. -Holly Mullineaux
